These were made by North in 1998 and lightly sailed on Lake
Champlain (short season) by the previous owner of my boat and myself
the last several years. They are for sail track converted rigs
(normal not tall rig). They have full tapered battens. The main has
battslides for the 4 battens. All other slides on both sails are
allslips. They drop freely. The sails are in good condition. The
main has 3 reef points and the mizzen 2. Both sails have hardware to
attach reef blocks at the luff to reduce friction of the single line
reefing. Both sails were cleaned each season and serviced.
I just put new sails on the boat: Much larger roach (well beyond the
Freedom plan), five battens, in a lightweight material. New main is
420 sq ft and mizzen is 262 sq ft.
If anyone is looking for a spare sail or is converting from
wraparounds and wants an inexpensive set of sails to start let me
know. Or perhaps these are newer and better then the sails you’re
currently using if they’re much older or heavily used.
