Fwd: sheeting for F32

Ok Al,
Here goes.

Gentlemen,
I am sending you these pictures off-line from the Freedom
Owners group as I didn’t want to bog down the site.
There are 6 pictures attached.
#1 shows the end of my boom and the attachment I installed for the
topping lift (my main halyard) and where I attach the main sheet
#2 shows the boom end of the sheet
#3 shows the toe rail end of the sheet
#4 shows the boom end attached
#5 shows the toe rail end attached
#6 is a picture of my boat taken at last Sunday’s race. Note how
the boom pretty much on the centerline. With the end of boom sheet,
I can keep the traveler centered and still have the boom centered,
which gives me lots of flexibility with sail shape. The winds were
about 15-18 kts so I sheeted the traveler sheet down hard to give me
a nice flat sail shape. In lighter winds, I don’t sheet too hard to
give the sail more curve. This allows higher pointing angles and
better boat speed.
Please let me know if you can’t open the pics or have any
questions. The blocks are fiddle blocks, one with a cam cleat (toe rail end).
Best,
TW

Tom:

Many
thanks. I posted your photos in the Photo section of this site, under the
very original name, F32. You can edit the photos or the descriptions if
you’d like.

Al
