Greetings

Just a brief hello to the group members,

To introduce myself (Dave from the Port Hope/Grafton part of Lake
Ontario), I have purchased my first F21 and due to retrieve it on
Thursday. It’s a shoal keel, well cared for and maintained, with a
CF mast, and lots of little extras. Needs a bit of a clean up after
last season and an anti-fouling treatment. Hope to be in the water
for Saturday (weather dependent).

As far as what I can offer the group… not entirely sure yet as my
sailing experience has been minimal over the past 25 years. I do
recall doing a bit of basic instruction to campers 25 years ago, and
then crewing for a short time on a 33 ft. Hobie keel boat 12 years
ago.

So I have lots of stuff to learn and experience, but I have heard
many times that a F21 is a good environment to do this in. After a
good read and reread of the Freedom site hopefully the rigging and
set-up shouldn’t be too much of a challange. Thus far this forum
has offered lots of need-to-knows with respects to the operation and
limitations of the craft, I thank you all for this!

I’ll let you know how the first sail goes if you do not read about
it first in the news.

Regards,

Dave

Welcome Dave. The “Documentation” link on the home page includes
commisioning instructions that are very explicit and easy to follow.
I was scheduled to splash Graceful Rose yesterday, but had
some “technical issues”…so…next Monday for sure. Cheers.
Peter
