Hello every one,
I am thinking to replace my main halyard. It looks Rather worn and color faded.
I looked up the size and length in the rigging inventory sheet and it states 5/16" , 67 ft.
Well… my old one seems to be at least 1/2" in diameter. Did the previous owner “went overboard” with the size ?
( I had to put overboard in quotation marks on the sailing forum!). Or 5/16" is not really sufficient for the main ?
My other 2 halyards are 5/16".
On the same note, what type of line should I go for? I am looking at XLS Extra on Ebay. Supposedly its better than Sta-Set.
Any ideas ? What do you guys have ?
I had 5/16 Sta-Set on my F21 and it performed very well. Laissez les bons temps rouler

Dimtry,
5/16 is what I used on my main. I got sta-set x. 73 ft. just to be safe.It is a little slippery on the winch but very strong.

I have a main halyard that is 1 year old. It is the 5/16 NE stay-
set line. This is what the manual calls for.
