Can anyone describe how the rope line on an F32 outhaul is replaced?
Mine is starting to fray and all I see is a line going into a black
hole, it just disappears into the boom. I don’t even know where or
how the other end is fastened. There must be a block or two in there
somewhere…
How does this thing work? How do I replace the line?

On mine there is a single block (“Pelagic”,F32, Hull
#122, 1991). I remove it every off season to wash the
lines. I believe you should have enough line coming
out of the forward end of the boom to get the pulley
out of the aft end, without losing the line, in order
to attach a messenger line to the block.
