hoyt 32 jib camberspar

Posted by free32pegasus (free32pegasus@…>)

We are recomissiong Pegasus, and are into the take her out and see
what breaks phase, during which time we have discovered that the
camberspar is missing. A call to copp sails in England (Pegasus is
hull#6 built under license there)sent us to Dave Bierig whom they said
was the only person who makes them. He wants $370 to construct one.
Just how important is this spar to the performance of the sail, and
does anyone know of an alternate source to purchase one from? Thanks,
Doug

My experience is limited to cat ketches but I might have an offshore
source for fabrication. Problem is I’d need either a very detailed
drawing or an actual example.

Dave Bierig is the inventor and manufacturer of the camber spar. In my
opinion, the camber spar makes the jib. I would spend the money and
replace it. Good luck. TW F32 #20

You may want to call Paul Dennis. He may have one from a rig he changed to
roller furler, or maybe someone on the board has one he has changed.
