Hoyt gunmount spinnaker for F 30 Mull

Posted by douglas.domurat (douglas.domurat@…>)

Hi Folks,

I’m near the point of getting Ab Initio all buttoned up and soon she’ll be
transported to the
port for the cargo ship sail to Thailand. Ab Initio is fitted out nicely and I
don’t envision
adding too much. That being said I enjoyed playing with the Hoyt gunmount
spinnaker on my
'86 F36. Ab Initio is fitted with the reinforced bow pulpit but not the
spinnaker package.
Does anyone know where I can get the sleeve that fits to the bow pulpit? The
rest of the gear
I think I can obtain from here. The yard, blocks, lines and spinnaker are a bit
easier to
procure.

Thanks,

Doug

Two comments:
The yard on my Mull 28 has a cylindrical center area, and
two tapered ends with sheaves within the ends, ala’ masthead sheaves
on smaller boats.
I’d look for a source of Teflon tubing/pipe on the Internet,
and have either its interior or exterior surface machined to fit the
pulpit fixture and yard.

I have the gun mount pole, sleeve and spinnaker from my "84 F32 that I can no longer use as the prior owner redesigned the bow pulpit.

Speaking of parts no longer usable on my boat: I also have two horizontal 6# (5#?) LP tanks collecting dust in my shop.

Any interest?

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sounds interesting. Not sure if the overall dimensions are the same but I’d
expect they’re
very similar. I’ll contact you offline and maybe we could see if it might work.

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Rick,

I am not sure about shipping, either. I’m sure it falls under hazmat rules. Where are you located?

Mike
