I am thinking about buying a 1989 F30

Does anyone have any questions I should ask the original owner? One
thing I have noticed is that most Freedom’s are with their original
owner a long time. Are ther any particular things to look out for
witth this boat?

Some questions you should ask when considering any boat:

Has boat ever been damaged?

Ever run aground in rock or coral? - You want to know if they have
hauled since the grounding and what the finding were/

Has the boat ever been involved in an insurance claim?

Find out what you can about the maintenance history. Try to get a
feel for the standards of the owner. I find that many boats have not
been maintained to my standards. That’s OK because I can bring them
up to par but I like to know how much work I likely have ahead of me.
I also like to get a feel for how knowledgeable the owner is. If
they’ve had the boat for a long time have they made intelligent
decisions about maintenance, repairs, upgrades, equipment, etc? Are
they smart enough boat-wise to know if wok that was hired out was
done properly. Don’t be afraid of a DIY owner. Many owners are more
conscientious than boatyard workers epsecially if they take the time
to educate themselves on how to do the work properly.
