I have owned 2 F21s, and now a F25. All three had a problem with
raising the mainsail. I tried lubricating the slides and track, and new
and different kinds of slides, and this helped, but did not cure the
problem. Last fall I discovered that the track of my F25 had some
barely noticeable dents on the inner edges of the throat. I believe
this might happen when a mast is unstepped, and laid, track down, on
2x4s, or on the bow or stern rail, or whatever. When running a slide
through the track, I saw that the slide stuck at these locations, but
would make it through if I used some force. We carefully straightened
the dents, so that the slide would not get caught up. What a difference
now when I raise the main!!! Check yours out before investing in
other, more costly, cures. Charlie
