Can someone post a picture of a Freedom 21 trailer, especially the
part that extends from the forward slanting post and holds the bow in
place? Mine was stolen along with the winch and I need to get it
replaced. Any ideas how to get a new one?

In Arizona we are big trailer sailors, I have a huge trailer for my Mull
Freedom 28. New one single axel will be in the $5,000 range, dual axel up to
say 7,000 pound range will be $6500 or so, to go to 10,000 pounds will be $7-8000.
Another grand or so for galvanized. Alternative is to find a used power boat
trailer and have a shop that knows sailboats convert it for your purposes. We
do that regularly out here. I had an old powerboat trailer converted for my
Columbia 22 two years ago for about $4000 all in and I had a serious kick butt
trailer when I got done, dual axel, which we would use to go over the road to
California and Mexico. Trailer manufacturers who do sailboats have engineering
for lots of sailboats and can build one to the specs of your boat if you want
to go new. Find a manufacturer that is an original equipment supplier to
sailboat builders. For example in Florida, Performance Trailers had supplied a lot of sailboat trailers.
Hopefully they have the specs for a F 21, or find out who supplied the trailers
originally if it was a factory option.

I just put my 21 in the water last weekend. I’ll take some pictures of the mentioned part
and send them to to you this weekend. Try shoelander trailers or west marine. It’s just a adjustable bracket with a roller at the end.
There is a picture of a free 21 on sailingworldinc.com of a trailer under classifieds.
Do you Yahoo!?
