New to me F32H

Posted by rfurborough (r.furborough@…>)

Well, I have committed, or should that be I am to be commited, to buy
an F32H, number 82. This is the boat that was listed in Oriental that
had been for sale since last October. Since that time I know of 2 or 3
people that had viewed the boat, 2 of them members of this group, that
had rejected the boat, mainly because of the spider crack in the deck
and cabin roof. Well when I viewed the boat these had been taken care
of, I actually know the guy who ground out the spider cracks and
re-gel coated the topsides. Also a new dodger, bimini and sail cover
were also bought to sell the boat.

Well, what I saw was good enough to commit to a survey based on an
accepted offer. The survey actually turned out to very good
structurally and after a good sea trial and final renegotiation we
concluded a deal today.

I do have some work ahead, as would be expected in a 23-24 year old
boat, but nothing I would call out of the norm for any Freedom boat.

Looking forward to getting into the work and sharing my experiences
with the group.

Bob

Bob:

Congratulations.

I assume you will rip out whatever trash engine is in that boat and install a
shiny new Beta 25?

Steve,

The boat has a Yanmar 3GMF that is in pretty good shape and runs really
well. Actually, with a little TLC it should be good for a few more
years. I see no point in changing it out at this time unless Beta
Marine want to give me an engine and do this install. I would willing
use the boat as a demonstrator then. However, in reality, I cannot see
that happening.

For those wondering why Steve raised this question, I work for Beta
Marine and have known Steve for a number of years as he is a Beta
Marine dealer.

You’re not supposed to say things like that.
