Portlight bedding compound

Yesterday I removed one of the plastic, opening, ports that had been leaking on my 1981 Freedom 36. I think it is a Beckson but am not sure.

I was pleased to get it off without breakage by slipping a putty knife blade between the cabin side and the outer trim ring, cutting the caulk exposed and gently prying it out. I was surprised to find the caulk would come out in chunks. After seeing this I’m even more surprised that all the ports don’t leak.

Question is, what to rebed this port with. 5200 seems too permanent. Is 3200 the right stuff?

On our 45cc, which has stainless ports, I removed one which had a small leak. I then dug out the wet material between the fg and replaced it with epoxy. Used 5200 to seal the port frames on both sides. Has been totally dry for three seasons.
