purchase of 1999 35''

I am purchasing a freedom 35 (1999). I was wondering
if anyone has had problems with moisture in the hull
or if there have been any mast problems?

Tom: I own a 2000 Freedom 35 and have owned it since mid-2001. I have had no such problems. In fact, my boat was in a very bad tropical storm in the Fall of 2001 which really tested the free standing mast. I had it inspected after the storm and no damage occurred. Since then, the boat has been trouble free, except that a couple of times I’ve had problems with the reefing system becoming jammed in the boom. Also, I’ve had to repair some of the gel coat (hair thin cracks) which Freedom says is not covered by their warranty. Great boat and a dream to sail single handed.

Larry: Thanks for your input. I am looking forward to sailing a freedxo again
as I had a 32
many years ago. One thing I did notice was cracks in the windlass boot. They
tell me this is
common and are just cracks in the gel coat as it is applied too thickly. Do you
have any
comments about that?
