We replaced the sheaves on the masthead, modifying and relaxing the
angles a little with larger diameter torlon bearing wheels
(Harken)…what a major difference that made.

Also go to E Bay and type in “winch bit”. There are usually two
sellers there. One of them is the outfit that Dave is mentionining.

Sheave bearings matter. Smart move with those improvements. Another
brand of bearing to consider is Fafnir. Haven’t used them in a while
but they may be worth checking out.
