I have pictures of a Freedom 21 that was in Florida with a bimini
installed on sail tracks. In the aft position, the front portion of
the bimini would clear the boom when sailing (please note to sew
leather(?) on front rail to protect it from the boom). When not
sailing, the bimini main attachment on the sail track can be moved
forward (maybe with the front portion under the boom). I believe
this approach is ideal for the small cockpit of a Freedom 21 and
plan to install mine this way this summer.

I’m considering buying an early 80’s Freedom 21. Is there enough
room
under the boom for a bimini? The boat has a shoal keel and a mast
tabernacle. Anything I should be paying attention to as far as
potential problems? Thanks.
