Pretty neat! Have wondered about these for some time now. What’s the cost of the boom? (Obviously the jib and furler are separate items.) Did you buy it from Forespar directly or what supplier? Looks like you’ve got it ending pretty close to the mast. Makes the jib bigger, but hard to step around the foredeck?

I updated my Freedom 36 this year with Gary Hoyt’s most recent alternative for single handed sail control " Hoyt Jib Boom". It works great. You can now control sail shape and trim with the outhaul and the existing jib sheet. An added plus is you no longer need to go forward when raising or lowering the sail, thanks to a furler. Anyone can get this boom from forspar. I posted a dockside picture in the photo sectionTo unsubscribe from this group, send an email to:freedomyachts2003-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.comYour use of Yahoo! David,
I purchased mine through Bay Boatworks a local rigger. He also is the
local sales rep for UK Sails Detroit loft. I would call Forespar, I
think it is in their new catelog. The unit comes in two pieces and
you trim to fit. It is only slightly higher then the hanked on jib in
the sail bag.
