I talked to Gary Hoyt yesterday.I got your e-mail today.I do have the drawing you need.You can enlarge it in a copier to the size you need and make your measurements or trace it.

I have emailed & written to Mr Hoyt asking if this would be possible as I wish to make a half model of my much loved F21 which I sail here in the UK on Lake Ullswater in the English Lake District. Unfortunately it was not possible to get a reply to my requests.

I have on my study wall half models of every boat I have owned and I would love to make a half model of my Freedom 21 to add to the collection as looking at a beautifully made mahogany half model would cheer me up in the long British winters and remind me that Spring & Summer are on the way?

Needless to say I would be prepared to sign any appropriate document stating that these lines would be used to make just one half model and would be returned to Mr Hoyt or destroyed on completion of the model as required together with any builders templates, section templates etc.

If anyone could plead this case for me Iand get a response I would be most grateful. Please also sincerely thank Mr Hoyt on my behalf for creating such a wonderful boat.

Sadly no. What Biff had does not sound like a set of lines from his description - however I am awaiting a copy of the drawing from him? I phoned Garry Hoyt personally and he advised that he did not have a set of lines for the Freedom 21. The only alternative open is for me to laboriously take off a set of lines from the boat itself the traditional way and then draw-up and fair the lines. Technically I can do this but frankly its a rather big job and way down my priority list when I have lots of practical things to do to my boat this winter. I will get round to this sometime next year perhaps & I will post the lines on the Freedom 21 site if/when I get it done. I am still searching for a set of lines and I have a few leads to follow up. If I find anything I will immediately post it on our site. Like you I was really looking forward to making a half model this winter but it seems unlikely that I will find a set of lines anywhere? Its a pity.

Try a J22, if you can find the drawings, I don’t think you will be able
to tell them apart.

In truth the F21 is not THAT special - just a very nice compromise that
we all like a lot, with a really practical rig.
