Re: Re: Existing site vs. owners group ? ( one personal take)

An owners’ group would be great. I suspect it
functions very differently than a technical discussion
list on line, such as this. So would guess there is no
competion. Am assuming the OG would see to things like
gatherings and group cruises? The existing discussion
list here is also valuable, to me anyway, for other
reasons.

I am so new (1 year) to boat ownership, I hang on all
your words, and archive many of them. Darned if I can
be counted on to actually remember everything about
every refit or maintainence task once it actually
comes up. So I make folders. But all your discussions,
I appreciate.

Can’t write much of anything technical to you, and
simply wouldn’t presume to. Can write things “social”
or humorous from time to time unless unwanted. I also
very much enjoy the “armchair sailings” various of you
sometimes pen, such as the neat “last sail of this
season” pieces in October/Nov.

Cal-list developed a warning code in the message
subject line, for members who wanted technical reads
only. Goes something like: Last Sail of the Season
(lengthy), or Coast Guard Interferences (personal
opinion.) Seemed to better
meet the needs of a large variety of subscribers,
putting some at faster choice about whether they
wanted to bother with the given content or not.

Me, I’m reading it all, and filing a good bit. Thanks
all for that!
