Subject: Re: [FreedomOwnersGroup] F30 Prop specs
On our F30 #12 with the same engine and trans ratio we had a 14 x 14 prop,
narrow blade. Fine for easy days, not much for serious pushing. Went to a
Kiwi 16 in. three blade. Happy with it. Wrote a complete review on the old
Freedom Group.

My Mull 28 has an identical engine-transmission pair. It had a 14"
prop with approximately 20-degrees of blade angle. Unfortunately, the
markings (if there were any) on the prop have disappeared, and I
don’t know how to convert degrees of pitch to inches of pitch. I
would hazard a guess that Freedom folks would have been loath to
stock separate props for the two sizes of Mull designs.
BTW, I switched to a 15" 2-blade Maxprop I found at a nautical swap
sale.
I installed it with 22 degrees of blade angle, which the PYI
folks tell me
is 11" pitch. The result was noticeably better
acceleration, and upwind motoring capability.

I know this is a load question and depends on many different things
but does anyone know the original prop size on the F30? I have a
2GM20F with a 2.61 transmission ratio.,.,
