There is another wonderful way to get treated with
respect. It sometimes takes a little while, but is
free other than your time and communicating costs.
Contact the State Attorney General’s Office, division
of consumer protection. Or other similar. Name varies
state-by-state. Online contact is possible for many of
them. File a consumer complaint. Works brilliantly.
They begin the correspondence and “distance”
mediation. Amazing what happens when a lagging tech
support department gets a letterheaad from these
folks. The other nice benefit is that the Attornies
General keep a data base of patterned complaints. If
these hit a certain volume, suits occur. EG. Ford
roll-over and Bridgestone Tires, the tobacco
companies, predatory lending practices, and others
less well publicized. Sometimes does the whole of US
consumerdom a giant favor. But will personally
expedite your company’s willingness to communicate
with you. In that you are out of the country, file
with the state where your product originated, or in
the company’s home state. Fine to initiate a complaint
even if you are starting to get slow glimmers of
corporate response. As Emeril sez, “let’s kick it up a

Excellent advice. Combined with some of the other suggestions, this
provides an angle of attack on many fronts, which may serve the
overall process well.
