Except of course, that you hoist it by releasing the
line, and retrieve it by hauling back in the line.
Other than that little
transposition, I think you’ve got an OK beginning
description. Once the real hands get home from work
and read this, they’ll help refine the directions.

Got me lad. Will say more once we fly it.
Unfortunately, our main halyard sprang in two last
night six minutes pre-race. Looks like Sunday will be
spent attending that first. Spinnaker second. Crew did
super well in the race, though. Jury-rigged the main
halyard, and started on time. Got Sparrow up to 8.5
knots in 28 knots of friendly warm Spring wind. First
race we’ve ever had to run with a reef… Gosh these
are sweet boats. Race 'em, if you’ve got 'em out there
folks. So much learning, so much fun. So many amazed
faces on the more traditional boaters. Ho ho.
Other Freedom skippers may fill you in on your
specific question below, Bill. Me, I’m going to print
it all off and cart it down to the docks for a weekend
guide. It will be as though all you helpful guys are
here. Wish you were.
