Never us a glass cleaner that contains ammonia. That can create fog.
The metal cleaner BRASSO works very well to clean plastic (acrylic
etc.) and is not expensive.

you can also get some decent results from toothpaste.

Buff, Buff and Buff some more. Use progressively finer coumpounds. Cannot fix if plastic has crazing in its mass. Better still, Scaramanga has Beckson ports. New lenses AND new rubber gaskets for under 10 $ each. BOW was half West Marine. They however matched the price !
