RGSC Catalina Week

Posted by Charles Rush Arasim (crarasim@…>)

A group of sailors, including me, from the Rio Grande Sailing Club
RGSC out of New Mexico is planning a week long trip to Catalina. We
are planing on the 3rd week of July and departing/returning out of
Cabrillo Marina.
I was wondering if any of you out there would know if there is a boat
hoist (arm type) near this Marina that we could use. So far the
largest (heaviest) boat would be a Catalina 25. Serveral of us are
tring to decide if we should bring our own boats or do Charters.
I would like to hoist my boat (Freedom 21) and not put my trailer in
saltwater. But we figure it will cost somthimg to use a hoist,
unless we can get reciprocal accomidation from a local Yacht Club, as
we have from San Diego Yacht Club in the past. If there is an added
expence for the hoist, it may tilt me toward doing a Charter.
Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated.

Charlie, call me, too much for email. Our
sailing club has been going to Catalina every year for 20 years. We have a lot
of information. Cell is best.
