As part of our refit, we have added new rope clutches. There are a variety of
sources for
labels for a zillion lines for foresails. Does anybody know a source for such
labels as
“Mizzen Halyard,” or maybe even “Mizzin Reef 1?” I guess I could use the
Forespar labels
for Butt Lift, Butt Down, #2 Jib Halyard and such for the mizzen lines, but I
suspect guest
crew might find that just a bit confusing.

On our F33 the labels were custom made, I think. Can’t be that
expensive; the one-minute-shoe-repairer makes them; they are ordinary
doorbell namelabels.

I use a Dymo vinyl label maker. Cheap, and replaceable. Good for other
labeling things also.

Go out and buy a Brother P-touch Labeler. Just make sure that you get one that will use the widest tape that you plan to use, they will take the smaller widths (mine will go up to 1" wide).
The neat thing about these units is that you have different font sizes and styles. You can get all sorts of tape colors, including, but not limited to, black on clear, and white on black tape (perfect to rehab your electrical panel labels). I’ve had had my labels on my boat for over two years, with no deterioration whatsoever. I have two Garhauer 6 gang clutches on my H-32, all clearly labeled. Without the labels, you can imagine how a new crew would bo boggled! And, oh yes, I no financial interest in Brother…PWM

Also, some of the tape types are for exterior use and have “enhanced” adhesives. That’s what I’ve been using and has worked great inside and out.

Thanks. I guess I’ll be off to Staples or Office Depot soon. At least it will be
a change of scenery from the chandleries.
