Bill,
I’ll have some time in March for sailing. On the 19th I have to be in
Long Beach but I can fly down Friday night and be able to sail
Saturday the 18th. Alternatively I should have some time free the
weekend of the 25th and 26th.
Let me know if any of these dates sound good and I’ll plan
accordingly. Also let me know if you need anything for the boat. I
have wholesale accounts at a few places.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave,
I monitor the chatter on this group and have gained an
appreciation for your expertise in sailing. You often refer to your
former boat and my boat, Freedom 40 Entropy, with nostalgia. You are
welcome to come to San Diego and sail with me. Just let me know when
you wold like to sail.Bill

Small price to pay for the performance gain. Running backstays aren’t
that big a deal. Many of the Freedoms that have done Transpac added
running backs and flew big kites from the masthead. I’ve sailed the 36
and it’s not that impressive off the wind. In fact our 39 was able to
pull a horizon job on the 36’s when sailing deeper angles. I don’t
even think the 36 rates as fast as a Ranger 33. Don’t get me wrong.
It’s a great boat and I’d love to have one. I just know I’d want a lot
more horsepower off the wind. Otherwise I’d have to have another 39.— In freedomyachts2003@yahoogroups.com, “macks011” wrote:
ahhhh…running backstays. Kinda goes against the Freedom Concept,

smaller boat. The interior had a more modern layout with the mid

no way of knowing for sure since I haven’t had a chance to sail
one.
You’re right about it having the interior volume of a 33 footer. In
essence that’s all it is. It’s a 33 foot boat with swim platform
that
makes it a 35 in the same fashion that a swim platform added to
the 36
makes it a 38.I think if I had a 36/38 I’d look at flying a Code Zero from the
masthead. I know that sort of thing has been done before. You’d
have
to add running backstays. If the Code Zero was flown from a sprit
and
mounted on a furler you’d have a pretty slick setup. Anyone want to
try it out?Yahoo! Groups Links
