WOW, I had been considering a compost toilet, after seeing one on a boat…the owners loved it.They are $. This may be the answer. Thanks for your info. Question:how do you secure the bag inside your toilet bowl? in other words…how do you hold it on? I understand you reuse it? do you have to close the bag between each use? Has anyone considered cat litter?..how could that work?..shake the bag?I don’t understand if they have better methods in a motor home, why boats can’t be same…If you have an RV…and can explain y we can’t have refrigerators that convert to Gas/or electricity…and a simple toilet like in the rv.On the compost toilet…Peat moss is used with Rid X…an arm rotates…and in 3 months you slide out the container, and an odorless fine dust like is poured into a bag, and tossed…all bio friendly. This is all great for boat owner, but probably will be frowned upon by city dweller friends.I also found another site, click on the menu at left to see others…anyone else doing this? http://www.outbacktoilets.com/The_PETT_Systems-The_WAG_BAG_Kits_12_Pack.htmlLolaAnother site too: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=ytff1-msgr&p=human+waste+portable+potties&SpellState=n-1117440810_q-%2FNJHlvO9zjwIIcX7LEtyggAAAA%40%40

My next boat (or this one if I keep it) is gonna have either an Airhead or
Nature’s toilet, a competitor of similar design.

Why would city dwellers not like a composting toilet? Put the residue on the
lawn, garden or some other spot that needs fertilizer.

Actually, I think the ones who would not like composting toilets in homes are
city/county code enforcers and health departments. But that’s because the
concept of a composting toilet is unfamiliar to them and alien to their
bureaucratic ethos. (Speaking as one who works for a well-entrenched
bureaucracy.) The only function of a bureaucracy is to justify its own
existence.

The Wag Bag stays under the toilet seat. We’ve not used it yet, so we can’t say
how well it works. It is there just in case. Normally, we just either pee over
the side, or in jars, or use plastic bags. But Wag Bags are pretty expensive
for one use ($32 for 12 bags). I got 50 bags, plus extra Poo Powder for, I
think, for around $190. But my memory is famously unreliable because I’m old.
