The water tank breather pipe on my Mull F32 leads down into the bilge -
this appears to be the original factory installation! Fortunatly the
bilges are dry otherwise any vacuum in the tank/breather pipe could
lead to a most unpleasant situation to say the least.
Has anyone re-routed their breather pipe to avoid the above scenario
and if so how have they done it and where did they vent to pipe in its
new location?

I assume that this vent pipe first goes as high in the
cabinets as possible so that it’s less likely to back-siphon from
your bilge. I’d route the vent pipe down below the cabin sole as
shallowly as possible, so that overfill is routed to the bilge, but
the likelyhood of back-siphoning is reduced to minimum. BTW, it could
be worse. My Freedom 25 had the vent pipe terminating in the cabinets
in the salon so that all the extra water soaked everything in the
cabinet, and the compartments behind the seat-back cushions (another
SNAFU by the folks at T-P. Herm
