Is this a Freedom?

Many of you have already seen this incident from Redondo Beach Sea Rescue. Is there anyway to tell if this is a Freedom that survived that thrashing on the jetty? I see no spreaders or standing rigging... maybe I am wrong.

Hmm, interesting. I had watched the video, but didn't notice that. Mostly wondered why they didn't tighten the jib sheets and how the heck that boat stayed in one piece. I'll go back and review the video when I'm on a big screen later today, but someone on another forum thought it was an S2. It would be way cool if it were a Freedom....

There is quite a discussion of this incident towards the end of a Sailing Anarchy thread that started over another jetty collision in the same area. There are pictures of the boat hauled out, with the rudder shaft bent 90°. It's an S2, apparently, a very thick solid layup. Incredibly tough construction.

I tend to avoid SA, so have been following the thread on Cruisers Forum. The owner chimed in and explained what happened. It is an S2. Suffered great damage, too. We're hoping he'll post more about the experience. Had to have beenone of the most harrowing! It was for me watching it...
