I have one kid at UAF - Fairbanks. Not uncommon to see -45 for a month. Needless to say we don't head north that often during those times. I enjoy the "Banana Belt" of coastal Alaska where it usually never gets below 0-f.

This is today at our gym at work. Sun finally came up at 1030.

Dumb winter. I have to head down to do some measurements.

Sun just coming uo at 8.30am in Shropshire, waiting for the school bus for my kids. Snow is mot a permanent feature here and was gone in a few hours.

Snow is common here - heck I live in one of the snow capitals of the world. BUT for the past 8 years its been on-off precipitation yet colder than normal . This summer was a wet rainy one. I think I saw no more than 5-days straight without rain. Its what happens when you live in the Northern most rain-forrest of the America's.

On the other side of the coin. Hardly anyone heads this way and the crowds, well what crowds.
