One of the major complaints regarding this new forum was that you had to connect to a web site to view the new posts. Well, I've addressed that by implementing "Digests", which provide an e-mail with the posts since you last visited the web site or since the last digest was sent. To very easy to set them up.

1) Connect to http://www.FreedomYachts.org

2) Log into the forum by clicking on "Login" under the Freedom logo.
Hint: If you've forgotten your password, click on "I forgot my password" under the password box.
Hint: Click on "Log me on automatically each visit" to get automatically logged in each time you visit.

3) Click on "User Control Panel" which is at the top, left-hand side of the page.

4) Click on the "Digests" tab, which right hand side of the User Control Panel.

5) Select the type of digest that you want (none, daily, weekly), the format (HTML is suggested) and what time you want it sent.

6) Modify any of the other options in the "Forum Selection", "Post Filters" and "Additional Criteria" and click "Submit" to save your changes.

Note that by default, all posts included within the digest are marked as read when the digest is sent. You can change this in the "Additional Criteria" section. Also note that you can specify if you want an index in the "Additional Criteria" section.

This is just a tickler to let members know about the Digests feature of this forum. It's a great way to keep updated on posts without having to connect to the forum on a regular basis.

Note that the new version of Digests (which provides a daily/weekly e-mail containing new posts) has some new features. One of the most interesting ones is the ability to include an index to the articles in the digest at the beginning of the e-mail. This makes it easy to glance at the digest and see what's being discussed. This option is controlled in the "Additional Criteria" section of the Digests tab in the User Control Panel. Please read the base note to this thread for a description on how to modify your settings.

I'm just posting an article here to remind people that this feature exists on the forum. This allows you to receive daily/weekly e-mail compendiums of posts without having to log into the forum.
