Condensor fittings

Postby TonyB » Wed Jul 31, 2019 2:50 pm

Hey Folks,
my Grunert engine driven refrigeration system is leaking badly at the compression fittings on the condenser. The way it looks to me, these fittings keep the seawater contained in the condesor, where the copper tubing from the coils come out. They are on the sides of the vertical canister. Sea water is pumped in and out the top and bottom.

I am assuming that I can loosen these fittings, hopefully apply some tape and re-tighten them without losing any coolant.

I am new to working on refrigeration systems so any help is appreciated!

Regards,
Tony
