Hot water heater replacement F 35

Today I had to replace the hot water heater in my house, which seems to fail about every 10 years.
The heater in the boat is heading into its 26th season. I don't plug in to shore power but I suspect prior owner(s) did.
It was made by Atlantic Marine, and sits under the chart table. It won't be a fun job, but one I would rather do in the off season, rather than risk an in season failure.
Atlantic is out of business, so no direct drop in that I am aware of.
Has anyone tackled this job? I did it on my last boat, but it was much more accessible and an exact fit in the old footprint.
