F30 fuel gauge

Post by lee »

The Fuel gauge on my F30 (located on top of tank) is not working (it continuously shows a full tank). Can these be replaced or is there a fix to loosen it up? (The tank is currently filled for winter storage)
Thanks

Hi Lee,

The original gauge is a simple mechanical sending unit. You can remove the gauge by unscrewing it and checking to see what's wrong. I'm pretty sure it's a Moeller sending unit: https://www.fisheriessupply.com/moeller ... ding-units, so if it needs replacing, just measure the arm and order a replacement. When I had mine out and reinstalled it, I used something like Permatex Permashield to seal it to the fuel tank.

Best of luck,

I put an electrical one in, so I can have a gauge on the breaker panel.. If you want I can look at it and get the brand, pretty simple install, compared to removing and cleaning the tank anyway...
