Good one! Keep us posted on removing the old and installing the new. Very good!
I have been posting my progress at - Everything Else - And now It Begins .

Engine is out and sitting in my garage. May give it to the local high school automotive class for a project.

Today I made two foot prints of the Beta 25 & 30. Heading down to the boat to see how they fit - both existing bed and parallel to the prop. shaft

Don't know. Hr meter was not hooked up when I got the boat. Today I made a simple 3-D to sit in place. I will use (removed from yanmar) the existing mounts and see where things fall. I have the "sump and tyranny" shown here.. Mounts are on the boat and I'll mess with that tomorrow when I go to town.. You will note the board say Beta 25. I may have to go that route due to aft mount complications. I will make a similar 30 model and see how it goes.

Looks like Fairbanks weather. Coastal Alaska is usually more temperature friendly given the latitude. 10 degrees F outside right now and that's cold for us. Usually we just get buried in snow. Watch the below attachment - I live at the other end of the canyon.

Sailing 61 - wow what a video! You have the snow trophy hands down! Today was 3 degrees and felt balmy…. Keep up the great engine work! I can’t wait to get back to sf bay and sail- this week.

As for snow. Its what happens when you live in North America's northern rain forest - Prince William Sound. Here's a good video of my back yard...

Here is my area of issue - the aft mounts. To fit the 30 I will have to bump the motor forward 4-6 inches approximately. The 25 will fit better but I loose a little hp.

Shown below is the 25. I have the old "drop down " brackets that may work. You will also note the mounts are almost up against the hull.

The 30 is almost 2-inches wider and would protrude thru the hull.

Re that video that you linked: Sue & I met Tony Flemming on Venture when we were going down the St. Lawrence. We shared several marinas as we worked our way down. We're still friends on Facebook. Nice guy!
