Freedom 32 throttle shift control

Post by gringstad »

LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON SINGLE LEVER THROTTLE SHIFT CONTROL FOR A 1984 fREEDOM 32. I BELIEVE IT WAS A MORSE CABLE UNIT THAT IS NO LONGER PRODUCTED BY TELLIFLEX. UNIT IS STILL FUNCTIONAL BUT HANDLE COMES OUT too easily ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING IN REVERSE. lOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT THAT WOULD FIT IN LOCATION TO STARBOARD ABOVE ENGINE MONITORING PANEL Also looking for any suggestions for relocating trottle shift contol for better access as current location requires looking down when manevering.

Freedom Yachts,org:
Still looking for informantion on the Trottle Shift control used on my 1984 Freedom 32. I believe it is a Edson Morse 910. No longer produced. Does anyone know about that control (especially if it shows the internal cam/gear arnagement in the mechanism). Also would like to get replacement if any used or new trottle shift control that would fit on the 45 degree sloped mounting surface and clear the recessed 13" X 6" opening to starboard side of cockpit. That recessed inset contains the engine monitor and trottle shift. Appreciate all help and advice so I can get the boat operational again.

Can’t offer anything regarding your single lever control. Perhaps my boat came with separate throttle and shift, or was converted to that. Anyway it has been trouble free.

Now my really dumb question: How can I attach a photo? (It’s hell being old.)

Throttle lever is on the right, shift on the left.

I've got the single lever control that was mounted on the bulkhead next to the engine panel on the port side of the cockpit on my 1986 Mull F30 if that would help you.

Mechanism looks similar the Edson 910 pictures.
