Thanks so much to everyone who responded so far! I'm researching these props and learning things. The Yachting Monthly prop test some years ago showed that some folders (Flexofold) more than hold their own in thrust and stopping power against a fixed 3-blade prop, but I'm not sure how applicable that is in "real life".
Any insights would be appreciated. I hadn't heard of the Campbell Sailor, it seems like quite a clever design, but couldn't find any tests of them.

So we decided to go with a fixed prop - a Campbell Sailor three blade prop. We had it installed today and are happy so far with the performance.

With our old Brunton Autoprop we would put it into first gear while sailing so the shaft and prop wouldn't spin. With this one when we're either in neutral or forward gear the shaft continues to spin. Does anyone know what is recommended while sailing - keep it in neutral, forward or reverse?

Thanks!
