My freedom 33 mast doesn't have brothers at the cabin top only a thin fibreglass ring slightly narrower than the hole which is simply held in place with self tappers
The cabin top at this point is about 3 in thick where the mast is wedged
As I am replacing my mast as it snapped at the cabin top should I add brothers

Re: Mast brothers
Yes. I’d also recommend putting some sisters in there too while you’re at it.
(I think you might mean partners, but I’m not entirely sure.)

Re: Mast brothers
I'm curious how your mast broke. That "thin fiberglass ring" doesn't sound like the aluminum ring that is through bolted on deck for the Freedom 30/36 that I am aware of. Because the mast is so bendy, I would think the wedge that goes between the mast and the deck structure should also be flexible/compressible and not made of wood. As to partners, my F38 does not have any that I can see but I suspect something rigid might have been laid down inside the fiberglass to strengthen it, but I don't know this. The mast sits on a "tophat" at the base and I believe most of the forces are downward while under sail, but I'm also not a engineer so this is a wild guess on my part. You might want to get a shipwright's input so you get this right. Those masts are not meant to be replaced too often....
