I think there is a butterfly block in boom. I have tried to attach a messenger line to the outhaul line but I have not been able to pull the messenger line through it keeps getting hung on something.
Suggestions?

Not sure I’d want to go to the bow to engage or release a preventer however. I think maybe a snatch block to the rail and back to a winch might be safer…

It was pretty easy once you got the pins to come out. What made it easy was I have a Kenyon boom so the back is already open.
