Dear Doug (and others),
The poll was posted by me and I have nothing to do with the initiative
to start an other board. Given the odd schermishings that started
here, I thought it could be helpful if people could give their opinion
in a simple red-or-green way.
And I don’t really care how people feel about this poll and if it
shouldn’t have been posted or should have been posted differently; if
you like, you can express your opinion. If you don’t want to, then
don’t. If you feel that the question or the answers are wrong, post a
new, better, mark II poll.
The fact that the outcome of the poll is irrelevant makes it a
harmless poll where everybody should feel free to give their opinion.
There’s no devious scheme behind it; no rights are revoked, no nothing.
I really don’t understand why people get so incredibly uptight about
this whole thing.
And I don’t understand why you speak of a debacle. Please explain what
went totally wrong in your opinion.
Michel
PS: I like the new board a whole lot better; I’ve been cursing at the
archaic Yahoo board since we got here.

This entire debacle in retrospect was a bit unnecessary. A
suggestion was made and thenapproached as what do “we” all think. But
in reality it simply doesn’t matter what everyone thinks. And thats
ok! If from the beginning someone announced their intentions and
didn’t hide it behind "lets have a vote"when the outcomewas
irrelevantit would at least been received moreopenly.

Hi Michel,
I only meant that the process seemed to create some ill feelings and
some posts were exchanged that were quite negative and that was
unfortunate. That “debacle” could have been minimized. But…with
the perseverence of everyone toward a satisfying direction it seems
that overall the troubled communications are in the past and its
onto the nuts and bolts of how the boards continue and the
adjustment and participation of all the members.
Let me take this moment to give you some appreciation. You’re one of
the “pillars” of this site and the Freedom community. I really enjoy
and often benfit from your postings. I’m really impressed with what
you’ve done with Alabama Queen and and I could use your ingenuity
here in Thailand on my little F30. If you ever want to part with
your F44 I can envision a home in S.E. Asia.
Can do without the
heater though!
Cheers,
Doug

Hi Doug,
Thanks for the compiment; if you ever have to be in the Netherlands,
let me know and we organize a sail. I’ve already welcomed a few other
of my Freedom board friens here. And if I ever want to part from AQ,
I’ll let you know. But that will not be in the near future. Please
have a look at the new board; I hope you’ll like it as much as I do.
The fun part is that you can easily shove a picture into your post.
It’s a lot more attractive because of that.
Cheers,
michel
