aft rail chock

Does anyone know who manufactured the aft toerail chocks for the
Freedom 45? I lost one this past weekend…

Wood toerail. It looks like it was scarfed into the wood, and
unfortunately the wood itself broke around the entire chock. I’m
considering either scarfing in a new piece of teak and mounting the
chock to that, or cutting back the toerail and mounting the chock
directly to the deck. Option 2 is probably the more feasible. It
doesn’t appear that the aft cleats on the 45 have particularly good
leads…

I found the right replacement part at Hamilton Marine in Maine. It’s a
10 1/8" x 1", chrome-plated bronze chock designed to be filleted in to
the toerail. I’ve noticed that Hamilton has some excellent prices.

Hey Lance,
For those of us who live in Maine, many of us use Hamilton
for our marine and boating products. If you moved to Maine, you
could shop there all the time.
By the way, we had a pleasant night at Isles of Shoals and
made it back to Pemaquid yesterday afternoon. Now I’m back to work…

Hi Tom,
great to meet you at Constitution. Hamilton seems very reasonably
priced. We stopped into their store in Portland while we were there,
but they didn’t have the chrome-plated chocks on display or I probably
would have grabbed it there.

I’m glad you enjoyed Isles of Shoals. I’d like to get back out there
and explore the islands a bit more - we always seem to be ‘stopping by’
on our way elsewhere.

Work is a 4-letter word.
