anchor storage

Looking to find ideas on storing the anchor in a convenient place on
the f21. Any suggestions and/or experience???

I store mine, when I am going to need it, in an anchor holder that is attached to the sternmost starboard safety rail post. The anchor rope runs from the anchor forward, on the outside of the safety rail posts, then through the bow chock, and then back, on the inside of the safety rail posts, to the starboard cockpit locker. When I am sailing alone, I can pull alot of anchor line out of the locker and then, right from the cockpit, take the anchor out of its holder and throw it overboard, letting out some rope and I waiting for it to set, and then fastening it to the cabin room cleat until I am ready to go forward and cleat the rope there.

I stored my Danforth on the bow pulpit stanchion. Seen in the following photograph: http://www.freedom21.info/images/bluemerle/BMMainJib.jpg I use a rope deck pipe fitting mounted between the running lights at the bow with the anchor chain and rode stored in the area forward of the v-berth bulkhead. See additional note: http://www.freedom21.info/deckpipeline.htm -John billpeggyweber <billpeggyweber@…> wrote: Looking to find ideas on storing the anchor in a convenient place on the f21. Vgb–Great idea for single handing anchor deployment. We could use
more tips on handling the 21 solo. I have a single hand problem in
that the boat does not like to heave to especially in moderate to
heavy wind. This makes tending to things on deck a bit of a risk.
Also, the tiller/steering is so touchy that I haven’t found a way to
deploy the spinniker when alone. Anyone have tips??
Thanks Chris

I use a Tiller Tamer (Tender?)- basically a rope clutch mounted on the tiller and a rope on the transom through the clutch. Tighten the clutch and set the tiller- you can raise/douse sails etc. Great solo sailing option! I like the anchor storage idea. How do you handle the chain??? The anchor stored there I would think be a danger of the spinnaker getting caught in flukie winds.chris montgomery <freedom.sailingguy@…> wrote: Vgb–Great idea for single handing anchor deployment. The chain lies inside of the deck curb although outside of the safety rail posts. That is where it lives until I throw it overboard.
