Dear George,
Thank you so much for your response to my email question. I happen to be in your area. Am originally from Dartmouth, MA, have spent the summer at the Vineyard and am now in New Beford for some minor surgery, before I get back to my love/my boat in Florida in a couple of weeks. Have to have the work done, because this year I am not able to do any myself due to the surgery.
I do not have an open anchor locker. The chain/rope will go down to the anchor locker through a hole in the deck. There is no opening door/hatch on deck. That’s was one reason for the question about where to put the faucet for the pump.
I had thought that 200 feet of chain might be overkill, but that using the High Test would be lighter weight to compensate. Someone told me that he had the same windlass and that all chain worked best. There are so many trains of thought, it is hard to make a decision.
Thanks again. I thought the 35lb CQR was overkill also, but it came with the boat. I did think maybe I should have another anchor. We’ll see.

The Pro Blaster will do the job…have one that is powerful and reliable. Mount the pump near the intake for your head and splice into that line with a T fitting. Then plumb a line to the deck faucet fitting.
Do you have an anchor locker? That’s where the faucet should be. If not, then I suggest a mounting a faucet in a very protected spot on deck.
200 feet of 5/16 in the bow of a 32 foot boat may overweight the bow. I suggest 100 to 125 feet of 5/16 followed by 200 feet of 1/2 rope. And then have a secondary anchor of different type with a couple hundred feet of rope rode.
