Unlike our prior Freedom 30, our current Pedrick 35 has an anchor locker but no where to attach the bitter end of our anchor line. The 30 had a cleat after the hawse pipe and the bitter end secured below in the V berth anchor locker. The 35 only has cleats port and starboard at the bow. Has anyone else had this same set up and how do you deal with it? All suggestions appreciated!
My P35 has a one-off custom anchor locker from the factory, which the original owner specified. So I can’t speak for what the typical P35 setup is, however I’d think a beefy padeye thru bolted somewhere in the anchor locker, with a good backing plate would do the trick

Hopefully you’ll never get to the point where this fitting is needed!
I ran into the same problem on my 35. I have about 130’ of chain and then about 20’ of 3-strand nylon attached to the last link. At the very end of the nylon rope I tied a thick piece of wood that is much too large to fit through the hawse pipe. The idea is that if the anchor chain spools out uncontrollably the wood will provide a stop to it and the length of 3-strand will provide enough shock absorption to keep from ripping a big hole through the deck. As I said, “In Theory” I haven’t tested the theory. I would prefer a solid cleat or pad eye somewhere in there.
