Hello folks,
I’m getting ready to start some projects on the boat now, and one of
the upcoming ones is cleaning the crud, cruft, and barnacles off the
centerboard and out of the trunk.
I hope things will make sense once I take the top off the trunk, but I
thought I’d ask whether anybody else knew how it comes out.
Since I was expecting this, I had them block my boat up high enough
that I could get the board all the way down and get good access to it.
Thanks,
Barry

Getting the board completely out is no easy task. On the UK built
F33/35’s it involves removing laminate of the hull on both sides of
the pin. The pin is a 4" stainless bar that theoretically can be
hammered out to remove the board. I’m around here since 1997, but I
never heard of anybody completely removing the board. I think if you
drop the board slowly, with the safety pennant removed, you can
access almost all areas either from the top of the trunk or from the
bottom. Anyway, that’s how I did it.
Good luck, Michel
