I was told to leave the bilge pump set to auto. Yesterday when I got there and all day it was running constant with hardly any water in it. I turned it off when I left.Hope I don’t has a wet boat when I go today.I have a float in the new bilge pump. Any advice or ideas? Today I will lift up a little on the float lever.Lola F30

Is the float integrated with the pump or is it separate? Are both the
float and the pump new? It sounds as if either the float is restricted
somehow from returning to its ‘full-down’ position, or something from
the bilge got jammed underneath the float.
On bright star, I replaced the float on the main pump with a solid-
state detector, which I felt worked extremely well. No moving parts to
jam.

I got the $32 West Marine variety, which handles up to a 20amp pump. It
worked very well.
