I’m interested in a freedom 40/40/ that has a bridge clearance of 61 feet or less. I know there was one built in 1996 (Fancy Bread) and would like to know if there are any others out there.
Thanks.
All the best,
MA
I have a Freedom 40/40, hull 25 that has a height of 61-62’. I don’t have my manual with me, but all of the hulls past a certain number (17 rings a bell) had the shorter masts.

In need, and if your boat is out of the water, you can measure precisely the height of your mast above waterline (provided you know where the waterline is!), as well as the exact length of your sailboat while you’re at it. You’ll need a surveyor’s tape and a theodolite, and some place to move back and take sigths at the boat.
The surveying method is described at http://www.dartmouth.edu/~matc/math5.geometry/unit15/unit15.html
Fairly easy if you follow the steps, and a spreadsheet will do the math for you. The results provide you greater comfort when travelling on the ICW!

The mast height on the Freedom 40/40’s was lowered by 4’ starting officially with hull # 18.
That said, it is a relatively simple matter to take a tall rig Freedom 40/40 or 45 AC and lower the mast height to whatever you want. I would be happy to discuss this process in more detail if interested.
I have a very beautiful Freedom 40/40 listed for sale in Essex, CT right now.
