I posted 5 new pix in the Hoist folder. Nothing too exciting. The
spars have been stained and holes drilled. I couldn’t understand
Wilf’s 90" instruction for one of the holes, so I made them 3" apart,
plus one at the bottom. I might put a coat of clear poly sealer on
today if it warms up, which is doubtful. Turning cold here in
Kentucky. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Great work. I’m following with great interest. My boat came with 3 20ft galvanized poles for raising the mast. Have not figured out how to do yet.Allen McClung <amcclung@…> wrote: I posted 5 new pix in the Hoist folder. Nothing too exciting. The spars have been stained and holes drilled. Hi Allen,
Great to hear of your progress on the hoist exercise. Sorry about the 90 mm (3.5 inch) instruction on my sketch - by force of habit we just have to get used to quoting dimensions in both imperial & metric units (Napoleon’s revenge). Reading your progress report I can confirm that one needs to really hoist the mast right up so that the mast foot clears the front of the cabin roof.
To help make things clearer I have made a perspective sketch of the installaiton “in action” & I will send this to Max today - hopefully Max can find a way of linking up my (hopefully) clear sketch to my Word document on our site.
Keep us all posted on the action - I assure you that after a few hoists you will be totally relaxed with the whole thing and wonder what the anxiety was all about?
Cheers,
Wilf
