corrosion of aluminum toe rail

I have several places where the bolts that attach the stanchions to the toe rail have corroded the aluminum. I do not want to replace the toe rail. Are there any fixes that would prolong the life of it? Has anyone removed the stanchions and rebolted them, perhaps with sealant to help insulate the SS from the aluminum? Can corroded aluminum be repaired?

to prolong the life of anything ali , including toerails, any stainless must be isolated from the ali , and the anodising must be protected from damage or pitting starts. a piece of mylar sheet placed under fittings and zinc chromate paste such as duralac on bolts
also wichard do special d rings for toerails with a plastic insert alo lahings ad webbing strops can be used instead of shackles. alo if you can remove them and rub them back to bare metal you can have itims anodised again
hope thats some use,
phil

thanks Phil, that’s very helpful.
