Cover for hole in deck when mast is down

Posted by Max Lent (maxlent@…>)

Hi All,

I discovered a means for covering the hole in the deck when the mast
is down. I covered the hole with a 9" West Marine Piling Cover: part
#6465264 $14.99. You will find that the cover is lose. What I did to
solve this problem was to purchase a package of circular flat rubber
feet designed to put on the bottom of vases to keep them from
scratching woodwork and apply them around the inside of the piling
cap. It now fits tightly enough that it has not come off while
trailering the boat at 50 Mph.

The one that I purchased was black. The white ones were out of stock
when I ordered. I would probably buy the white if it were available.

I used a grey plastic bird feeder “squirrel guard” (dome) when I had my mast down over the winter. A bungee cord attached to the bird feeder hook on the underside was used to hold it in place. -JohnMax Lent <maxlent@…> wrote: Hi All,I discovered a means for covering the hole in the deck when the mast is down.
