Does anyone have a photo that shows the floor boards removed
to access the bilge. I’m replacing the floors and dont know the
original size. A measurement and discription will help.
Thanks

I just finished putting in a new teak and holly sole in my F25 last
fall, but unfortunately didn’t keep any of the measurements or the
template I made, and should have taken a lot more ‘before’ photos. I
can tell you that with the complex curves around the settees,
passageway to the V-berth, head area etc, there is a lot of picky
fitting to do, and measuring won’t get you a very precise fit.
What I did was strip out the old floor carefully (you’ll have to cut
it into pieces to get it out of the boat) and used it to superimpose
over a large sheet of cardboard for the beginnings of a one-piece
template (make sure you mark which side goes up). Then it’s a matter
of taking the rough template below, laying it down on the stringers
and cutting it into pieces that will get through the hatch…I did
mine in three pieces, minimizing seams wherever I could, and leaving
a cutout for the bilge cover. Reverse the template on the back of a
sheet of 3/4" laminated teak&holly marine ply (for a clean cut on
the finished side), and cut out with your jigsaw (carefully coz the
ply costs a couple hundred$). One 4X8 sheet of ply is enough, with
enough left over to make an insert for the v-berth.
Contact me directly at murrayk@… and I’d be happy to
share whatever mistakes, photos, etc I can.
Good Luck!
